Flower Duet Co-Hosts Be A Wedding Hero at Terranea Resort — May 13, 2014

Every­one enjoys a deli­cious brunch on Catali­na Ter­race at Ter­ranea for our Be A Wed­ding Hero Event.

Flower Duet co-host­ed a wed­ding indus­try event on May 13, 2014 at Ter­ranea Resort. We had a grand time at our #beawed­dinghero cham­pagne brunch and train­ing ses­sions for over 100 wed­ding & event plan­ners and wed­ding vendors.

We want to extend our spe­cial thanks to our won­der­ful Ter­ranea-based event ven­dor group with whom we love shar­ing ideas each month. Read on to learn about our ven­dor part­ners and what they did for this won­der­ful event.

Flower Duet co-host­ed a wed­ding indus­try event at Ter­ranea Resort on May 13 for over 100 wed­ding professionals.

First on the agen­da was for every­one to enjoy a relax­ing round of net­work­ing on the Catali­na Ter­race under sun­ny skies over­look­ing a clear view of its island name­sake. After enjoy­ing fab­u­lous par­faits, kabobs made of bacon, fresh fruit, and french toast, make your own Pavlo­vas (by Made­byMeg) and more savory and sweet food, we direct­ed the group for a whirl­wind round of six ses­sions to fix com­mon prob­lems that come up dur­ing weddings.

Be A Wedding Hero Lessons

Casey Schwartz and Kit Wertz of Flower Duet taught their groups how to cre­ate an emer­gency bou­ton­nière for when an ush­er or grooms­man needs a replace­ment on the fly. Casey showed the group step-by-step how to cre­ate a bou­ton­nière from scratch, while Kit showed every­one our method for how to pin flow­ers on a lapel so they stay put! Meg Hall of Made by Meg Cater­ing taught her groups how to fix a dam­aged wed­ding cake. Miki & Son­ja of Miki & Son­ja Pho­tog­ra­phy and Bri­an Per­ry of Per­ry­field Films teamed up to show wed­ding ven­dors how to take a viral-wor­thy Insta­gram pho­to or video.

Ida Gard­ner of Ida Gard­ner Events demon­strat­ed how to tie a bow tie (the real kind!). KC Camp­bell of VOX Djs went through the list of essen­tial dos and don’ts to achieve the per­fect wed­ding toast. The team of Design Vis­age Hair & Make­up showed guests how to repair a false eye­lash on the big day. Chan­da Ali­cante of PAPER CREW pro­vid­ed all the beau­ti­ful­ly made invi­ta­tions and sig­nage for the event.
