Rose Sto­ry Farm Gar­den Tours are ‘hands-on’ guid­ed tours. Touch and smell the ros­es and ask ques­tions of the grow­ers. These inti­mate and infor­ma­tive walk­ing tours run approx­i­mate­ly 1 hour, and are fol­lowed by a catered gourmet pic­nic lunch in one of the gar­den areas, com­plete with sand­wich­es, Cae­sar sal­ad, fresh fruit, Rose Sto­ry Farm dessert, rose petal infused ice tea and lemonade.

Flower Duet Tours of the Los Angeles Floral District

Flower Duet offers guid­ed group tours of the Los Ange­les flo­ral dis­trict on Wall Street. Tours are about two hours long and take you through the two large ware­hous­es of the flower mar­ket where you’ll learn how to choose fresh flow­ers, and where to pur­chase flo­ral sup­plies like tape, vas­es, rib­bon and wire. Cost is $20 per person.

Banning Museum Celebration of Roses — May 3, 2014

Kit was asked to rep­re­sent Flower Duet as a guest lec­turer at The Ban­ning Muse­um for its Cel­e­bra­tion of Ros­es Day on May 3, 2014.  The Rose Soci­ety dis­played their home­grown ros­es and there was a lec­ture on grow­ing gar­den ros­es in addi­tion to my lec­ture on how to arrange with ros­es. Cel­e­bra­tion of Ros­es appear­ance.

SMOG Shoppe Wedding

The SMOG Shoppe is not a place to get your car checked out for clean air com­pli­ance, but a hip and trendy event venue in Cul­ver City where wed­dings take place in front of a liv­ing suc­cu­lent wall.  We cre­at­ed suc­cu­lent inspired cen­ter­pieces and bou­quets for this love­ly wed­ding in May. Wed­ding Bou­quet by Flower Duet for a love­ly bride get­ting mar­ried at the Smog Shoppe in Cul­ver City. The bou­quet fea­tures suc­cu­lents, hydrangea, sea hol­ly, spi­der mum, misty blue, astilbe, veron­i­ca, bru­nia, vendela ros­es and wax flower.

Purple & Green Wedding at South Coast Botanic Garden

We cre­ate flow­ers for a lot of wed­dings at our local South Coast Botan­ic Gar­den in Palos Verdes. This inti­mate wed­ding theme was pur­ple and green and it looked so vibrant when we set up around 1 p.m. for a late after­noon cel­e­bra­tion. Here are our pur­ple gar­den wed­ding pic­tures of the event before it happened.

Flower Book Review: The Plant Recipe Book

Each one of the 100 “recipes” spec­i­fies the type and quan­ti­ty of plants need­ed; clear­ly num­bered instruc­tions detail each step, and 400 pho­tographs show how to place every stem.
