I know you may be thinking that an establishment that has only 5 star reviews can’t be for real! WELL, it IS when it comes to Flower Duet.

After months of research trying to find a wedding florist, I had decided to try and do it on my own because everything was out of my budget and no one seemed to want to work with me. I started looking into taking a floral arrangement class or two so the flowers didn’t look like a complete disaster…that’s when I found Flower Duet. I emailed her my situation and she asked what my budget was. She was more than willing to work with me. We were able to save some money by doing a bouquet session with my girls where we made all of our own bouquets. These ended up doubling as centerpieces. Casey was there the entire time supervising us. It was such a fun experience with my bridesmaids!

I can be pretty particular but everything turned out great!! The wedding flowers were beautiful and within budget — delivered to the venue on time and perfect!! Casey is a breath of fresh air to work with…so calm and sweet. I can’t recommend her enough. You will be so glad you chose Flower Duet.

My only wish is that I still lived in Los Angeles so that I could take some of their classes!!!!”

Yay!.. just.. Yay!

My friend stumbled the Flower Duet online while browsing through blogs and arranged for a few of us to attend one of their tours of the LA Flower Mart. Surprisingly enough, I was thrilled to get up at 5am on a Saturday to go! We met Casey at the designated location and from 7a-9a she led us through the fragrant isles of the Flower Mart. Along the way, she gave us tips on how to pick the freshest bunches, arrange them properly and make them last as long as possible. Casey was SUCH a kind gal and you can sure as hell bet I’ll be attending one of her arrangement classes.

5 stars for good ideas and kind people!”

wedding-flowersI cannot say enough wonderful things about Flower Duet, a floral design studio run by two amazing sisters. These ladies are custom florists who also offer a range of unique services including flower arranging classes (hand-tied bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres, round arrangements, wreaths, and more), tours of the flower district, and even a DIY DVD.

While planning my wedding, I stumbled upon their website, and decided to take a hand-tied bouquet class, and that class did not disappoint. It was taught by Casey, and was so informative and fun! After you sign-up for the class, all you have to do is arrive at their studio, where they have the flowers and equipment ready for you. And by the end of class, you walk out with your creations. Casey is a fabulous teacher, and also gives advice on what flowers will work best for the season, location, and look of your event. After such a positive experience with the first class, I decided to take their corsage and boutonniere class, which I also highly recommend. Then, I even took a field trip with Casey–along with some other students–to the downtown flower market to learn how to select flowers, purchase flowers (yes, there is flower market etiquette), and get an idea of what flowers are available. Casey helped me pick out some flowers to experiment with. She observes the flowers you are drawn to, and can recommend others that will work with your preferences, or even show you heartier and/or cheaper alternatives, which is so helpful if you are trying to stick to a budget.

Casey KNOWS her flowers, and will tell you what works and what doesn’t. Some wedding vendors make you feel ridiculous for attempting DIY projects, however Casey is not only supportive of such creative endeavors, but actually makes them possible through her expertise. Even if you decide that you don’t want to do your own flowers, Flower Duet is a custom florist and can do them for you.

Bottom line: working with Flower Duet is a pleasure, and I highly recommend them. Taking their flower classes and going to the flower market have been the high points of my wedding planning.”

Dearest Kit and Casey,
What can I say that I haven’t already? Perhaps just MORE?

Thank you SO very much for the “Designing with Citrus” class yesterday at the Huntington. I just LOVED the design which is saying a lot because I have loved and adored all the other designs as well.

Also, I had forgotten to share the fact that after having taken the Regency inspired hand bouquet class.… I continued to make bouquets for the next couple of weeks. I took a bouquet to each of my son’s teachers for teacher appreciation week. They were very well received. In fact, one of the teachers wants to take a class from you. I might be bringing her with me one of these months.

Anyhow.…many many thanks to you both. I so enjoy your instruction, your company and both your bright faces.”
